|
|
A year ago Voice123 sent me a promotional e-mail for International Women's day and offered me a pretty low rate on their year-long premium membership. Prior to that, I had tried out the site with a 6 month deal for $99, and within a few days landed an on-going VO gig. So, that was cool. I never booked anything else from it, though I didn't audition heavily. So when they offered me the special ladies only deal, I went for it. This past year I accepted a full-time radio job, stopped focusing on VO, and only sent out a handful of auditions for Voice123. March 12 was the last day of my membership. (I checked last week because I knew it was coming up.) ALSO last week, I put in my resignation from my full-time radio job. No more dilly dallying around. It's time to do what I love. Anyhow.... the whole point of this post is that I just logged onto Voice123 because I'm still getting audition notifications, and it now says my premium member ship expires 3/12/20. Say what? Is this something they do? Do you think it's a mistake and I should delete this post so they don't get tipped off? I didn't plan on having any eggs in that basket but if the basket is just there... |

I'm not too up on V123 policy, but do you think it's possible they automatically renewed your membership and charged you without you knowing it? I would check your CC and see if it's been charged. These sites are notorious for auto-renewals. _________________ Jack Daniel

Jack, that was my first thought as well. So far I see no sign of a charge. Also, the auto-renewal option shows "off" as it should. |

Holy cow. Went back to the receipt from the purchase last year, and I paid the membership with my boyfriend's credit card. Trying to reach him to have him check his stuff. I'll keep you posted! *nervously bites fingernails* |

Update: They accidentally put in the wrong promo code and gave me a free premium membership for another year. Now that I've alerted them to the mistake they are taking it away.
DANG! Ah well, better safe than sorry. Honesty IS the best policy. Yadda yadda... |

I'm not sure that being denied that membership is a bad thing. _________________ Jack Daniel

Since the people who pay $3,000 per year for membership are getting a big head start on submitting demos over you and everyone else, I think you should be happy to not pay them another dime.

Indeed! I hadn't planned on giving them more $ so I'm not too sad about it. I did get a nice gig during my time with them so I'm thankful for that one. |

Today was the last day of my membership. I'm done.
I'm glad this topic came up, because it reminded me to check. I also have a 2020 date on my membership. Auto-renew was disabled. I've written to ask them to confirm I've canceled. I'd better not see a charge on my credit card.
EDIT: They confirmed the 2020 date was a (yet another) glitch and there will be no charge. I'll be checking that.

It's $1500 a quarter for Platimum membership, so $6000 a year. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

If I pay $500,000 can I just have all the jobs and not bother with the training and studying? |
