For our younger members who may not be familiar with the 1967 song Alice's Restaurant, which we're alluding to in this thread, it was an anthem of sorts for those opposed to the Viet Nam war, and, for some, what appeared to be a growing authoritarian government. A side note, I was one of the first people to see the movie version of Alice's Restaurant. My family was vacationing in Boston in 1969 and the premiere of the movie was taking place close by at this brand new theater concept, a MULTIPLEX movie house with TWO side by side theaters!! I ran down there to see if I could meet Arlo but missed him by thiiiiss much. I stuck around and watched the second ever showing. The End.
