Most of us have stayed away from posting anything controversial on the facetubes, twittergrams and all the other socials. But I’m done. For me I think the time is LONG past for pretending all work is the same no matter what it is or where it comes from, because it’s just work.

So here’s a spot I just voiced – and I enjoyed saying EVERY.SINGLE.SYLABLLE. of it.

And yes, I’m going to post it on the “socials”. (I’ve already re-tweeted it but no one ever sees my one-every-few-month-tweets anyway). But before I put it elsewhere I’m sharing with you guys first - cause you're family.

Well done, Melissa.

From our Zoom calls together I get the feeling we as a group lean in the same direction as most creatively engaged people in this country. We should also, for consideration of every visitor here keep blatant political commentary on this platform to an absolute minimum....like zero.

THAT BEING SAID....

I think we are going to be seeing some really interesting produced ads during this election cycle, and if you have performed in one I see no problem in posting it here.

HOWEVER....

If commentary and politicizing gets out of hand by supporters of EITHER SIDE or any candidate, I will pull all such material down, and pardon the phrase, "lock 'er up".

ALSO, IF TWITTER OR FACEBOOK HAS PULLED AN AD DOWN FOR FALSEHOODS, IT CANNOT BE POSTED HERE EITHER.

We are here to celebrate performers and performances not political views. Let's try this... he shuddered as he typed.

I'm in total agreement Bruce. The point of my comment was meant more that I got to do a read here in a tone I rarely get the chance to use (mostly because...female, and we get so few - if any - opportunities to do so, because men still dominate the "hard-hitting" realm) and whereas I might have "hidden" something like this before, I no longer feel the need to. In the past I was always careful about what I posted, like many others, because of the concern that anything mildly controversial might result in "lost opportunities". I no longer have that concern.

So as not to comment inappropriately, here are my thoughts:

A: As always your read was excellent, Melissa.

B: Keep up the great work as you always sound delicious! A sincere "feeling" through your voice is always the best way to send a message. In this spots case you were maybe a bit subdued, but still powerful. If you have to explain your passion, you probably were not passionate enough.

Nuff said.
