Hi there!

I am new to the board and thought I would just take a moment to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Tony and I am a voice talent. I come from the radio end of the business where I spent 15 years on air...10 of them as a production director.

I took a break for a few years and became a member of the 9-5 rat race. But the race ran a little too long for my tatses and I found myself missing out on all the joys that come from being part of a "family"...a family that I want to actually be a part of. I didn't want to end up hearing my son ask me..."Who are you and why are you in my Mom's house".

So here I am, hoping to spend a little more time with and be more accessible to my family and at the same time trying to make a living at my first true love...voiceovers.

Hi Tony, welcome to the board. There are some exceptionally talented and generous people on this board who can help you along as you progress toward your dream. Also, the archives here are chock full of relevant information. Time spent sifting through the archives will be time well spent.

Good luck!

Tony,

Welcome. And I'll echo Joe's comments about the value of reading the archives. I've read through them all (yes, it does take a while!); but the amount of information (and fun) you'll gain will be well worth it.

Welcome aboard Tony. Here you'll find some awful people, some anal people and some awfully anal people. They all have one thing in common, a love of voice over work and a passionate hatred of me - Two things in common! Oh and we all need to get out more. In my case there are legal measures to prevent this happening whilst unsupervised. Should I escape it's easy to fend me off by waving a tub of watercress in my direction. It looks innocent enough but that what watercress WANTS you to think!!!

I've visited your web site and heard the demo's, they're fabby!

And Tony...

If you combine almonds with the watercress, watch out!

Yes, it is easy to see how someone holding a bushel of watercress can be distracting...

Welcome, Tony.

Hey Tony, welcome to the board. I visited your web site and demos and it sounds like you are already well-positioned for success as a VO (way ahead of where I was upon first joining this fine community)...greetings from a fellow ex-radio head.

Thanks so much guys!

I will certainly (watercress) read the archive. I look forward to it! And Phillip & Rob...thank you for the kind words (watercress) regarding my demos. It means a lot coming from you guys!
And don't worry...I don't (watercress) get distracted too easily!

Then, there is Banksey. You will find VO-BB members lively, wild, and wacky... and then there is Banksey.

Good stuff on your site, Tony... Have fun and enjoy time here with this "family" too.

Toodles

I'll chime in as another "kooky" radio personality. (picture proof below)

Welcome Tony. I'm a noob myself and can attest to the good information I have obtained from here in just a few months.
