So, here's the deal. I still check this page out from time to time. Not much happening. I joined this page years ago, maybe even decades ago. I loved it as there was nothing like it anywhere on the net. Also, I adore Deebs. But this was the answer to the negativity that I was seeing at the early vo cons.

But today, this site is getting a little long in the tooth. The format is dial up. I am not at all saying it needs to go away. But it needs an update. A reinvention. It cannot compete with the social media pages. I know the feeling is this is a different group, a different purpose, etc.That was the mission of this page when it started. But that's just not true today. This page serves the purpose of every social media vo group, without the interaction and outreach. This page has a future. But it needs to be taken to the next generation, or at least the current generation. I totally respect that means a lot of work. And the powers that be here may not be interested in doing what is needed. But, no one talks about this here. As you all know, I'm always upfront and honest. I get bored checking this page a few times a week and seeing zero interaction. And the few times I see a comment, it just isn't relevant.

There was a time this page was cutting edge. Reinvention is the recipe for relevance.

This is still the place to be.

Because whether it's here or in the real world, this is it's OWN community...part of the voice-over world, but more than that.

Some folks will never understand that...this is not for them and they'll find value the latest shiny thing. Fine.

That's for them. This is for us. Not exclusionary but rather the very example of: if you know, you know.
