Yesterday around 9:50am I suffered an enormous loss and have only just now come to terms with how great the impact will be on my life. We'd been together seven years, she and I. I knew her and she knew me like we'd always been together. She was solid as a rock and there wasn't a day that went by I didn't call on her to listen to what I had to say, interpret it and pass it along when necessary. What makes this so hard for me is the fact that after only a short time together, after the initial weirdness that's inherit in all new relationships went away, there wasn't a single thing I would have changed about her. Not one. She was perfect in every way. You could say "she completed me." I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. Last night, after taking the necessary steps to ensure her safe passage from this world to the next, I wrote this poem and in a few short days will lay it down with her to rest, forever.

---

It seems like only yesterday that I saw you the first time
And the way we bonded instantly as I held you in my hand in line
Neither one of us could possibly know exactly how much time we had
It was enough for me that we spent it together, still it makes me sad
For even though we were as one in this life, it was time for you to move on
Your path was laid out in front of you and in an instant you were gone
I grew so much as the years passed by and every minute you stuck with me
That's why I say with the heaviest of hearts, I'll miss you, my ART Tube Pre.

---

Sorry for your loss Dave...if only I'd known, I could've sent a Mullard 12AX7 to try and help her!

Except words like...
It'll make a nice lamp.

At least you have your memories. That way she practically glowed when you first met. The warmth that radiated from her as you worked together. She was always willing to tell you exactly how you sounded regardless of how shocking it might be, all without any (grid) bias.

I'm sure her passing leaves quite a vacuum in your life.

I read what you you writ and dug deep, really deep. What has happened to you must cut to the core, such an unfathomable blackness must surround you and doubtless this will continue for months, may be years into the future. There is nothing I feel able to write that will bring light into your darkness.
At this time I draw strength from the sure and certain knowledge that having sought the core of my soul I am unable to find any interest in your situation. It's such a comfort.
