Here's the program note for Milt Rosenberg's Extension 720 show on WGN this Thursday, 1/25:
VOICE OVER ACTORS
The commercials we see on television and hear on the radio range from amusing to inane to offensive, but the one thing they all have in common is that they employ the talents of voice over actors. From the characters in radio commercials to the voices of cartoons, the art of voice-over acting is still alive and well today, many years after the golden age of radio. Tonight on Extension 720, we celebrate those who are engaged in this interesting art by welcoming a panel of voice actors to discuss and demonstrate their craft, including TIM DADABO, DEBBIE KELLOGG, and HELEN O'BRIEN.
You can listen to WGN via a RealAudio stream at www.wgnradio.com. |

An all star line up! Micky Wham, Keppy-Lee Zwip, H J McNore, Lilo Wiebiki and Honor N Pride were obviously too busy. |

I bleeb I've told this before, but for all the youngn's...
Many moons ago I was a half hour into my very first air shift at KUPD in Phoenix, when programmer Chuck Browning (the famous "Chucker" of RKO fame) called and asked if I'd said my name yet on the air. When I affirmed that I had, he said "Oh shit. I wanted you to call yourself Billy Biscuit."
I've been so glad all these years he was late in making that call. So glad.

LOL. That's great. When I was in college the local Top 40 station got a new package of PAMS jingles every year. They had them sing a few more "fake" names and the new jocks got the next one on the list. I'm just glad I got a guy's name. |

One station offered me a pre-sung "Tom Kelly". Me and about 50 other guys on the air in those days. No thanks.
I sang my own instead. That lasted about a day and a half.
Sigh,
