So there's a brand new animation gig at V123. The post describes about 20 characters and then pastes in the ENTIRE script as the audition. I can't make heards nor tales of what they are looking for. Is it just me or should they post 1 gig per character and provide one snippet of lines for the audition as opposed to letting people cherry-pick the lines they want to audition with?

Did anyone else see this completely lame post?

I just sent a generic animation demo, quoted no price, and said "I'd love to learn more about this fun project!"

TOTALLY agree with Todd... I deleted it too...and I thought as I was doing it...that I probably would have had a better shot at it since no one was actually going to pick through all that garbage to figure out how to audition!

Last count says they had 53 people audition. This is rather low for most and I'm guessing people just had no idea where to begin. Shame, too. Not many animation things come through there.

I just deleted it too. One of my personal V123 rules is to delete any post that is full of spelling/grammar errors or is just plain incoherent. Says a lot about the minds that I'd be working with.

Ron,

That's not all that uncommon, actually. At least I see a measurable number of duplicated leads. I like when they come through Voices.com because there's always more information with their leads.

It's when you get a call from one of your agents with the same audition that is on both Voice123 and Voices.com that it gets REALLY ridiculous! (That happened a couple of weeks ago.) That's casting far too wide a net my friends.

More to the point, it's a common theme with people who are non-payers (i.e., deadbeats).

Does V123 have some sort of payment enforcement? Or are you on your own?

there's a "legal insurance" program through State Farm that I use.

Basically, you pay a rate, and if you were to need a lawyer for civil matters, they help you out.

Considering that a strongly worded letter usually gets the beatniks to pay, it's been a good investment for me.
