Hello,
I’d like to introduce myself. I’ve been working the “other side of the glass” for almost 30 years as an audio engineer, having my own studio for the last 15 years.
But more recently, I’ve done a fair amount of voice work too which I enjoy so much. I found the VO-BB site through a link on Karen Commins’ site
(http://www.avoiceabovethecrowd.com) which has a wealth of information for aspiring voice people.
This really is a superb site. It’s perfect either for anyone who is already in the voiceover biz or someone who’s ready to get their feet wet. You have so many well-informed folks ready to freely and generously share their ideas and expertise. I’m eagerly looking forward to being a part of it.
I record and produce quite a few voice demos for voice talent
(http://scotchproductions.com/voicedemo.html) and will now share this terriffic site with all of them.
When I decided to join this community, I was inspired in part by Mary McKitrick to design myself a dedicated website for VO instead of just a page on my studio site. Mary (http://www.mcmvoices.com/index.htm) is so incredibly talented and has such a lot to offer as a voice talent.
So, I would really appreciate some feedback from all you talented folks on this new site which I’ve designed solely to promote my voice career. (www.scottishvo.com)

Gordon,

Welcome to this little corner of the Internet. I'm sure you're enjoy your time here. (As you may know, Mary's been a part of things here since shortly after it got under way.)

Welcome Gordon. You will find a lot of great information here. These folks are wonderful about sharing. One big happy family here.

Another reason I wanted to say hello is to tell you that I recently finished a couple of classes with Bob Michaels. He has some very nice things to say about you and your studio. So much so that I believe I want to have you do my first demo.

It's true standards in the voice over business have fallen THAT far! MCM brings shame on the community and I know of one provincial voice in Scotlandshire near Portgordon, Paris, France who is able to make a living several week of the year with little or no measurable ability or watercress.

Aye an' welcome aboard m'loon. Fit like?

Gordon, a big welcome! You are clearly a gentleman of rare intelligence and perception.

And pay no attention to that bad man in the wee Portgordon huttie. Kiss

Also, please be certain all seat backs and tray tables are in their fully upright and locked position. Smile

Welcome aboard Gordon. As always, I recommend new people on the board spend some time foraging through the archives. A veritable feast of information will be found there. Good luck!
