That's impressive but I had a cat once that would ring the doorbell and used the toilet. Both without training. Although she only did each one once so it wasn't THAT impressive.

Mary,

I quite agree. The duet was especially so. Smile

You have a toilet within the cat's reach of the doorbell? (someone HAD to ask that...)

Gp, I guess I should have made it clear that the two were in different places. Wink

By the way, I grew up in Sandy, UT. In fact the cat in question was around when I lived there.

I have 2 cats of my own. They're pretty smart actually. At my day job I do warranty work for a builder. A homeowner wrote in that she must have a water leak because her bill is always high. It was checked out and there was no leak found. A month or so later the homeowner was home ill. While laying in bed she heard water running....she grabbed her video cam and went to film the leak. She discoverd her cat was flushing the toilet over and over again to watch the water go down, (I have the video but it's 3mg and my website isn't setup yet) This apparently was going on for months before they found out what was going on. The cat was flushing the toilet all day long while they were at work.
Hmmmm Maybe they're not so smart after all....or perhaps easily entertained. Or perhaps they seek a sort of zen enlightenment focusing on the the swirling water.

Nora is certainly one talented puss!

I had a little white cat Crystal who would sit on the edge of the bath, wait for me to finish my bath, and then I would pass her the bath plug chain in her mouth for her to pull out the plug. One day I forgot, and her little mouth dropped open in shock, so I had to put the plug back in and hand her the chain. She also did a great head massage, but would move to my feet if I miaowed and shook my feet whilst she was doing my head. ( I know, what a sight)

One of "my" New York cats Maxi, (I miss him so much) likes to exercise on the Total Gym. He hasn't learned how to pull the weights himself, but he miaows with delight as he sails up and down. He also likes to listen on the phone.
