Hi Everyone:
I have been doing a bit of voice work but have never had my new demo critiqued and would appreciate your feedback. I can't seem to copy and paste the file so you can reach it if you have a second by going to www.nancygerman.voice123.com
Thanks for your help,
Nancy |

Nancy,
You're welcome. I'm glad to help.
(By the way, if you click the "Download the Demo" you see just to the right of the flash player, it takes you to a page with the audio link on it.) _________________ Be well,

Hi Nancy,
You might want to consider breaking your demo up into separate demos for each category. That demo is a mix of commercial, character, on-hold, etc. clips.
Good luck to you! |

The singing stands out to me and not in such a good way. If you are a good singer, that clip does not showcase your talents. _________________ Jeff

Very good "variety" in your voice presentation... although as stated above... demos should be relative to the content. Commercial demo... Audio book... Industrial... etc.
One thing I did pick up was the same background mix that traveled throughout the demo. You might try different mixes for each "commercial" so as to define separation. _________________ "Bailey"

Thanks for all the feedback. It is really helpful. It is also really interesting because prior to this demo I always separated everything into categories and I thought the jingle was weaker but people seemed to often respond positively to it so I kept it.
I actually do sing a bit better. Is it a good idea to hire a jingle writer for this or can I take any copy and get someone to put background music to it?
One question I have is if I send a demo out as a marketing tool via mail should it be in this mixed format and then separate by category on websites so clients can waste less time?
I've been lucky to get work consistently but really want to step it up in the marketing area so I welcome suggestions and comments. |
