OK, here we go. I've been on the board for a couple of months, and it's time to jump into the fray. Take a listen to my TV demo and see what you think. I've been trying to get a few more stations, but have been running into brick walls this first quarter. What's good, what's bad? You can hear it at:

Sometimes we use the audio from jobs we've done to help us get more work. The problem is that for demo purposes the audio (not the voice over) may be weak in terms of the subject matter, copy or the final production.
What I've just heard was all a bit "so what?" That is no reflection on Ron in particular it's just that for demo material we have to cross the line a bit from this man is good enough for us to "is this man too good for us?"
Think about it this way. You get the call from the office of George Lucas, they've got THE job for you but the only audio they will consider is the audio from the last job you did. Do you send it? How confident are you that on hearing it the Lucas people will say - "Yup, dat's our voice?"
I realised a few years ago that no one is going to raise my game for me, a real shock to a lazy sh*t like me! |
