Hi All

I am just beginning to build a library of music that I can use and I came across this when I did a google search. I've heard people say good things about music bakery and digital juice as sources for music. Has anyone had any experience with dawnmusic.com? They are advertising a promotional deal that I am thinking of calling about on Monday. But first I'd like to know if anyone can recommend this as a good company to deal with.

It's been said that the 2 keys to success are:

1 - Don't tell everything you know.
2 -

That being said, I'm going to spill the beans on my favorite music library.

MusicBakery.com

Each time I need a cut, I buy the ONE cut I need and pass along the cost to the client. Cuts are full-lenght or edited to 60, 30 and 10-15 seconds.

There's even a lo-fi download so the client can hear it in their piece before I buy it.

http://www.shockwave-sound.com is another great library for "by-the-cut" tracks. You can also buy their compilation cd's. I have bought several of their single tracks AND one of the librarys. Excellent quality and very reasonable price too.

I've used Music Bakery for years. Their vintage CD's are a pretty good value, too. I rarely add music for the client. Maybe twice in the last 6 years. (You know...our voice goes to the client and we hardly ever get to hear the finished product.) But I do use Music Bakery and the Digital Juice music library to put music behind my demos. With the "Juice" library I feel I'm covered for any request. Great for podcasting, too!

I'm with Bill on this. The juice tracks can be used for a lot of stuff, and there are specific sites for individual tracks without getting overcharged.

There's alot of digital Juice fans here. Good solid librarys for not alot of dough.

Bobs Music Cafe's "2" package is pretty good too...and inexpensive as well.

I came across a pretty good deal awhile back. It was a re-packaged selection of older AV Deli stuff under the name "Radioactive Drums". Good quality, inexpensive. Found that one on, of all places, Ebay.

I produce alot of what I do since so much of it is Car-related. Means I have a real need for stock music...royalty free stuff just makes my life a whole lot easier.

Hi again!

I've been shopping and did go to www.dawnmusic.com
I clicked on the promotional offer and they gave me $40 worth of music and sound effects. Of course they want me to enjoy the freebies and buy more later. Just thought others may want to know about this. I think it's a good deal (free is a great price!)

I'm on digital juice's mailing list and looking for a sale to buy back trax. Hopefully that deal will soon be back.

Anyone else use Smartsound Sonic Fire Pro? I was an early adopter and have had great success.

Go to the Digital Juice and sign up for their offers. They periodically offer their music libraries at ridiculously low prices! That's how I snagged mine! Good luck.

I use it all the time in the day job (video) I have ver 3 and just picked up a bunch of discs. I love how I can customize the length. But as with any library, there is a lot of stuff I cannot use. (the suits are very conservative) But being at a state agency I am not in the position to purchase by the cut, so I get the librares. I picked up the Digital Juice Backtraxx1, but I already own a number of those cuts (on CD's I got years ago from River City Music) Backtraxx2 was out of stock when we ordered, and now the money is gone.
Frown

I am addicted to the DJTV though... great ideas and if Perry Jenkins is involved in the production, it's very entertaining (he is behind the scenes now, wtih Production Notes, his show on hiatus) think of him as kind of a Alton Brown for video.

Kathy,

Today would be the day to check out the Digital Juice music library deal. They have just put Back Traxx 1 on sale again for $99. But, it's today (Tuesday) only!

Thanks, Bob
It's a great buy--plus you also get a $25 gift certificate for future purchases. What a deal! I love bargains!

Last week they had BackTraxx 2 on sale for $99 but it was one of those 1 Day Only deals too. It pays to subscribe to the email notices (and read em), that's for sure.
