Hello peoples, I was hoping that I could get some feedback on my demos.
Choose whichever you want (excpet the character, that's kind of a trainwreck)...
I thank you in advance for any light you can shine in my face

Chris-
Good work.
I like that you can play them directly in you page. I heard somewhere that you should be able to do that.
One thing though, it bothered me that I had no idea how long they ran. A progress bar would be nice. Or maybe something that said 60 sec commercial demo for example.
I know that is more website critique than voicework critique but I am new so.... other than I think they sound good not much to contribute.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah, I have a bar system on the site, but it kind of bounces and such and I haven't worked the kinks out on it yet, YET. |

Noting is showing up inside the, umm, window looking thing in Firefox for me.
So, over to IE.
Commercial demo - My 2 cents
You've got a great voice, nice tones, great range (I'm jealous). Good selection of spots. You get work with this already don't you?
Here are my notes:
There's a click in "line" in the first sentence.
I feel like the 2nd clip is too long for some reason.
Time Warner, real estate - no issues
Yamaha - the sound quality is not as good as the rest of the demo but I like the energetic reads.
It ends way too abruptly to me. The demo is building... building... up to high energy Yamaha and then you throw me off a cliff. I'd like a trampoline to land on please. How about closing out with something in a similar vein to the first or 2nd read to ease us back down? Or perhaps move the Yamaha stuff into the middle somewhere.
Overall it's obvious to me you are a professional. The demo showcases you very nicely. I'm nitpicking on minor stuff.
Thanks so much from sharing. I learn a little more every time I listen critically to someone's demo and I really appreciate it.
Hope this helps.

That's because you don't have the Flash plugin installed for Firefox. This is the primary reason NOT to have audio embedded directly in the page. _________________ Jeff

I don't? I did. Flash works for me on other sites. Hmm, off to mozilla to investigate.
I dunno. I had it, but it was older I think. Updated and now Chris's site looks bootiful man... jus bootiful.
Thanks for the help Jeffrey. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

It was not a problem with flash embedded in the site.. that is never an issue.
It was with my coding. I changed one thing on the page, and the subpage loaded.
Because it worked fine on mac, IE.. didn't take the time to check the IFRAME settings for FF.. no, not Frank, firefox. |
