I decided to brush the cobwebs off the MXL 990... blow the dust off the Behringer... and see if my voice still works.
Thanks for stopping by.

If that's throgh a Behringer mixer and an MXL mic,
it sounds good. No harsh artifacts. I produce spots,
and I would be happy with that "sound". _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

Bill... Thanks for checking the clip out. My mic and mixer also thank you. I was also hoping that the vocals were "on the money". _________________ "Bailey"

I liked the sonic quality of the setup a lot.
As far as the read goes, it sounds like a very nice voice speaking English, but the impact is that of "words on paper". It's not flat—you are using range, but it's as though the highs and lows are painted on. I don't hear a lot of honesty/reality/believeability in it.
What I have my students do is look at the copy, get the gist of the message and tell me extempoaneously what it's about. They record this improv and as they play it back the can hear the way the commercial should be read. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Ok DB... Let me chew on this some more... and give you an
Take 2
Is it believable yet?... or am I still reading? _________________ "Bailey"

It's better— and heaven knows you have a very pleasant-sounding set of pipes!
There are still things I would hammer you on, though— in terms of range and intent.
I can give you a full-spectrum critique, but that kind of stuff isn't for public consumption. Wanna talk? Shoot me an e-mail. _________________ DBCooperVO.com
