Hey gang.
I've mentioned before that I have a talk show on the internet, covering the biz as such. I'd like to pick yer brains.
Voiceover wise, what kind of topcs would you love for a talk show to cover? I mean, yeah, I go through the BB's and obviously am in the biz myself, but, what kinds of topics or issues would you like to hear on a chat show about our area of the biz, pushed and pulled around etc.
My aim is to make the show very informational, not just to any newbies but to those who have been around a while as well. Like with one guest, Harlan Hogan, he's going to focus on the home studio, ISDN, etc.
Are there any guests you'd love to hear from in the business?
I'm baseed out of the Chicago area, so, any of you out in NY or LA, who can fill me in on some people out in those markets, I'd appreciate it.
Also, we're going to have some Agents on a future show, and have VO talent submit some of their commercial demos, and have the agents talk about what makes a great Commercial Demo, from their perspective. Consider this an invite, if you're interested, to submit a Commercial Demo. If you don't want your name mentioned if played and an agent talks about what they liked or didn't, make a note. But then again, if you're confident about your demo, and want your work and your name out there, happy to do it. Otherwise, we can call you Mr or Ms X.
I"m going to do this a number of times, with Commercial, Narration, Promo, Charact6er demos. Sometimes talk to agents, sometimes to people who consult and help put the demos together.
The reason I'm asking for suggestions from this group of people on this board, is I have a great deal of respect for the information people share on here, as well as the experience and tact when covering topics. I came on here, asking questions about ISDN, and I found people writing to me and helping me one on one with things. Which I needed, as ISDN was a black box to me.
So, if'n you wanna send a commercial demo, send it to:
Demos@CastingCouchRadio.com.
Any ideas of topics or guests you'd love to hear about or from:
suggestions@CastingCouchRadio.com
Thanks. Gary. |

Right now, there's just the shows saved on VoiceAmerica.com. Their system, I'm finding out, ain't so grand. I have an easier time going to the past shows, and playing from RealPlayer, not as an MP3 windows jobbie. No idear why.
I'm looking in to setting up podcasts for the show. Been asked that a number of times now, and the response I'm getting from others checking into the arch'd shows, is that they sometimes have the same trouble playing them from the VA site. So, I need to look at other options. Nice thing is, I own the show and where I go with it etc. Not restricted to that online network, so... looking in to other ways to make the shows available.
For the time being though... Voiceamerica is it. GJ |
