It's almost 1am here in Denverland..
I am sitting in what is almost packed up of my life. Doing it alone, the worst part was wrapping my couch in mover's plastic wrap.. imagine, holding a 6' long couch on end, and trying to get a 20" wide roll of plastic wrap to go around the thing so it will stick to itself and I can secure the blanket I've put on it.
Ugh.. I'm not whining too much, I'm just tired and needed to vent.
Tuesday is my departure, at least I won't be packing or unpacking when I'm driving.. hey, maybe I just keep driving and I'll never have to unload!
Hope all is going well for the rest of you! |

I feel your pain Chris. You're moving into San Diego and I'm moving out. Such is the circle of life... or something. Good luck with the move and drive safely. |

I don't now how I would move as I've been in this house for 23 years. This thread is making me consider what that would be like. First of all, they didn't have "home inspectors" when I bought this house. That sure took the fun out of house buying, didn't it? lol
I used to visit friends in Denver. Been there about 5 times. From what I've heard, San Diego is beautiful. Hope you have a good and safe move and that everything makes it there in tact! |

Dieter says he's never moving again!
we've been in this house going on 12 years.
Even if I were to establish a west-coast base of operations, we wouldn't pull up stakes—I'd have to be bi-coastal and completely outfit-from-scratch any new joint.
(this is not a complaint! I'll get to have a tiny place this way. )
Many thanks to Chris for my "Twisted Mom in the arms of Don" avatar. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Just read an article saying Sandy Eggo is the most over-priced real estate market in the US.
Good luck on your move. I do it every few years and I hate it more every time. |

It is pretty pricey here in SD. I am extremely grateful that I was able to buy my house 20 years ago. (I had a regular job at the time with a regular paycheck.)
I actually still owe about the same - used the house to buy two cars, new windows, doors, deck, jacuzzi and remodel the kitchen and garage. But I was able to drop the interest rate each time and get to a shorter mortgage. Those days are gone for a while, so any major purchases will need to be done the old-fashioned way - save up for it! _________________ Playing for a living...

I'm moving back in with my Mother for a couple of months to get settled in again, and she's been in the same house for 42 years+.
They bought their house for.. $29k at the time.
I'll be looking for the same kind of deal |

My sympathies Chris. I've moved countries three times. It does cut down on the clutter. The last move seven years ago was within four miles. You'd think by now it would be easier but it wasn't. Soon you'll be settled, enjoying Dan Diego, setting up your studio, and getting lots of work.
cheers,
Chrissy |

Good luck...I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't misplace anything or that anything gets busted on the way _________________ Lou Zucaro

I feel for ya, Chris. I had to do pretty much the same thing last summer; pack 1500 sq ft of junk in 3 weeks. The best part was putting the padlock on the back door of the rental truck and starting the new adventure. It's all about perspective, after all.
best of luck and all else!

Hey Chris,
San Diego does have expensive properties. Around here it's called "sunshine tax". We pay a little more to live in one of the most perfect weather areas anywhere to be found. I wish you best of everything through the move. Moving is definitely one of my least favorite things to do. But I'm excited we'll be neighbors soon. Looking forward to getting the welcome wagon out to greet you! _________________ Bobbin Beam

I totally relate. It's no fun.
