About Google Audio and their relationship woth Clear Channel:
"You're already advertising on the Web, so why don't you try a radio ad? And you will discover there's a whole network of people, at the click of a button, who can professionally produce the ad for you, for like $100. It's unbelievable."
Maybe that's why I didn't get the GA gig - I quoted too much. _________________ "When I was your age, we had to dial to get online"

You should be in radio in my market. <g> Radio spot production, copy writing and voicing is free AND they will send your commercial to any other station at no charge. The end result? Every station has the same voices on every local commercial. Now there's your opportunity and sales pitch.
This is why I recommend to folks just getting started to start local and educate how a new and fresh voice is to their benefit. |

If you recall the sample ad Google used, it was horrible. You have to wonder what will happen to Clear Channel's ratings when a jillion or so really, really crappy ads start running on their stations. Ye Gods. |

It's a "J" curve. Things get worse before they get better and this has to be allowed to happen. Quality will win in the end as their profits depend on it.
Lots of good voices moaned about the crappy voices. What's been happening over the past few years is that the crappy voices are now scratching around for work. Why? Things were allowed to get worse and now producers are going back to the quality voices. |

isn't there one philosophy whereby the ads match the formats in sounds. so end result is easy to imagine. crap+crap=crap.

Philip is right of course. The market takes care of itself as it always does. There are some people who only want cheap and some who only want quality, while still many others end up someplace in the middle. _________________ Lou Zucaro

OR... I could continue to establish myself in a competitive market, yet still enjoy the rather exclusive market to which I've been part of and paid quite well.
Call me spoiled, but I rather enjoy being able to own a small number of vintage cars, and some rather high end recording gear _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser
