A TV campaign - Big weekend at all car delaerships in one particular group. The voice for the main copy would be lifted from the TV campaign and the resulting audio used with local tags for radio commercials. The music was taken from the Oscars ceremony and the VO had to sound like an awards ceremony voice. Do a read sounding like myself. It fits with the music and the pictures. I mention that the awards ceremony voice (Oscars) for this years was Don La Fontaine. Stephen the director asks how that would sound. I give him a rough idea. Amanda our sound engineer records. It fits with the music and the pictures. Stephen gets the client on a conference call. Plays both versions. Client goes into another room with the bosses, they listen first to the American style read.

"Okay, now let's hear the UK boy." The American VO was more in keeping with the campaign ............... Even when I compete with myself I lose work. It's not fair I tell you!!!!! IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!

Diane,

If any male on this planet could pull off Randy Thomas, I'm confident it would be our Mr. Banks. Laugh

A decent Yank accent that, with only one dead giveaway to your Brit roots...

You blokes say week-END and we say WEEK-end....

Just in case you were planning some covert activity...

Oh, and the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series in '42.

If it was late 1942, I think it might have been Germany and Japan. Wink

You sound excellent, Banksey! Not a bad N.A. English delivery at all! Nice production, too.

In the World Series? We've been nice enough to let the Canadians play. They're almost like foreigners.

Methinks our baseball organization is loathe to allow a true World series since Japan, Cuba, and the Dominican Repbulic would likely hand our hineys to us.

The thought of a $10,000,000 per week team getting their butts kicked by a team consisting of shoe shine boys, cab drivers, postmen, a retired admiral three political poets and an 8 year old bed wetter who all play for food coupons really appeals to me. - Ooooooooo spooky, I've just identified the top ranking talents on Voices.com!

Philip,

Hey, you're talking about me, now. Though I am a bit more than 8 years old, last I checked. Laugh
