Hey folks,

Am planning on getting my demo(s) together this week for the beginning foray into this line of work. I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for "open source" music and/or sound effects that can be used to make a demo? I truly don't want to get "in trouble" using someone's music as a bed that I'm not supposed to.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

"open source" is probably the wrong term unless you plan to modify the underlying software code. But if you're looking for free Royalty-free music and effects, your hunt will be a difficult one. As well, the quality will be subpar. I strongly suggest you buy from reputable source such as Digital Juice. Or you might be able to buy/borrow/barter from some kind souls here.

some links:

you can also google "royalty free music" and find a slew of libraries. of course, you'll have to pay to download. but then you're free to use pretty much forever. (yes, certain restrictions apply even for royalty free music)
