Yep... It's that wonderful day of the year again.
Guess I'll start some laundry... feed the dog... clean up...

I enjoyed drinking coffee out of my new VO-BB mug (my first father's day present). Now it's about time to go edge the driveway and mow the grass.

I feel you.

I'm different. I actually ASKED for ties....'n' that's what I got. 4 of 'em -- all blue in some way or another. Blue's the new red, ya know.

Oh, and a gift card to Barnes 'n' Noble.

But it was the hugs that sealed the deal.

What's not to like?

Dave,

Yeah, but you NEED new ties in your line! Hehehe...

Be sure to ask the kids for the receipt so you may write it off.

Get mine back home from San Diego now that the doctor's cleared him for flight (insert bad military joke or "Armageddon" reference here).

I've got a cake waiting for him upon his return Smile

Happy Dad's Day to all Dad's on the board.

Two tips I have:

1. Tell your family you accept belated Father's Day gifts.

2. Next year remind them Father's Day is coming. Either E-mail them or if you have a wall calender use a big red marker, circle the day, and put a note at the beginning of the month--SHOP EARLY.

cheers,

Chrissy

Jeez, I didn't even remember today was Father's Day until my son wished one a happy one when I awoke this morning, bless him. To which my wife replied. "Oh crap. That's right! Go wake up your sister."

As you can see, we're not big on holidays. Smile

Spent the day with my Dad in his hospital room. When we took him in this week, nobody was sure he'd still be here today. He is. That was my Father's day gift. That, and having one more day to tell him that I love him.

Don't ever take that opportunity for granted.

Wise words, Vance. And my prayers are with you and your Dad.

Things did get much better as the day went on...

My son took us out to Buca di Beppo for lunch.
... A Borders gift card from my son.
... An Islands gift card from my daughter
... A Strait-Line Rolling Tape from my wife
... And my son also took us to his office to remove a dime sized growth from my scalp (I mentioned before that he was a PA Dermatologist), that alone saved me $300.
Father's Day turned out quite well... even with the sore head.
Smile
