yeah, a pause after "past" is the only way I could get it out right.

You are single-handedly responsible for 50 people saying "past statistics" over and over again to themselves. Thanks a lot. Lips Are Sealed

Stopping after "past" worked okay for me, but what worked best was engaging an ear-to ear grin (without the audible smile) during "past". It makes the "past" close nicely upon itself without a pause. BTW, "through past statistics" = "historically" Smile
Recently I was going to include the phrase "reduces processing costs" in my narration demo...but thought better of it.

IMO,

No need for any stop. In spoken American/English, those words are just said together. The st does double-duty.

Like the middle t's in hot tamale

I must beg to differ.

If you elide the ST, it sounds like PASS-Statistics.

I would have asked the client to change it to "through previous statistics"

I used to do that. Now I just rip through it and if they say anything I address the problem.

Usually they don't. Wink

Full stop. One word then the other. Will is sound odd? Probabaly not, as long as you use contrasting inflection. If done right, it should give the impression that you have just passed along some very important information. If done wrong, it will just make ya sound like a bozo.
