You may have heard about some radio groups (Entercom being one) that have hooked up with TargetSpot for their streaming ads. Here's some excerpts from their ad creation page:
Record your own ads right from your computer using an ordinary microphone or any touch-tone telephone.
Create your ads using realistic computer-generated speech using both male and female voices in a variety of styles.
Enhance your ads by adding professionally produced background jingles and high-quality sound effects to them. _________________ "When I was your age, we had to dial to get online"

Pretty much shows you what they think of us, doesn't it?
I wonder if in the near future there will be threads discussing which touch-tone phone is better, the Webcor Deluxe or the Sports Illustrated Football phone? |

The TargetSpot ad creation stuff you're talking about is for
Web streaming, not over the air broadcast. Still not good.
Highly rated radio stations will not give up prime inventory for
these "remnant" services from Google and TargetSpot.
These kinds of radio time buyers have been around for decades, just not
internet based..
Good news: A local (Raleigh, NC) auto dealer group hired The Martin Agency, creator of the Geico and UPS spots, to do their creative. They spent millions for ten local tv commercials!
Smart advertisers are wanting to do better quality, entertaining commercials, to get people to pay attention. That will be a good thing for talented voice actors.
Don't get too caught up in the Voice123, Voices.com, world. It's not
how voices are really cast for good paying, quality voice work.
Check out www.spokenword.com's FAQ. Beau is a great guy, knows the real world of VO, and I send him checks every month for his voice work. _________________ www.asapaudio.com |
