Caryn.....you can do it! You've got it. Now go out with all the confidence you should rightly have with your exceptional abilities and have fun doing what it is you love. Don't let anyone shake you or get in your head.....cause some will try. Don't let it happen.
I know you will be a great success story. Now go get 'em.
And a quote I like from The Donald.......

| By this time, you're at home, a full weekend ahead of you, and gainfully self-employed. You'd better be holding a glass of champaign, too! WHOOOPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! Congrats, Caryn! |

Do this thing and make it a habit:
Find a nearby coffee house or bagel shoppe or something like that.
Every morning after you wake up, go there and have breakfast- cup of coffee, bagel...nothing expensive. Read the morning paper. Become a regular.
Why?
Because as you work from home you'll find some days you don't SEE people. Sure, you'll talk on the phone etc. but its not the same.
People need people. Face to face interaction.
You'll start to see familar faces and that's good. Otherwise, all alone in your office, you'll get fat dumb and stupid
Also you'll find you'll run across people you know or maybe didn't even expect to see....you'll network a bit and yes...make deals,
I have closed easily over $10,000 worth of business just from meeting and talking to people at my breakfast place. _________________ - Peter

Peter, that's an awesome little tip.
Caryn, I hope today went smoothly and the mixed emotions were kept in check. Now, combine the two. How about working by the pool? _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Peter,
I also thank you for that tip...and here I was feeling guilty for doing that very thing! More coffee for me!
Caryn, may you experience much success!

Bon Chance Caryn!!! It's normal to feel disoriented at this point. Believe me it will pass. Besides your going to be busy sending out all of those CD's, and having the work start to come pouring in. Enjoy all of it.

Congrats Caryn!
Being new to the full time VO thing, I've noticed Peter's absolutely right. It's weird not being around people after stepping away from a day job. I'm fortunate to have my wife around who also works from home (which isn't nearly as stressful as it might seem by the way But, it is nice to step away for some socializing from time to time.
The best to you in this new season! _________________ Joe Szymanski

WOW... THANKS everyone!!! I really appreciate the tips and the upbeat quotes... I'm gonna print this out!
I did a "vision" board this weekend and just hung it up on my office.
Here I go... off to make phone calls in a few minutes. And, I have a little vo job to do today! _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I'm Caryn's husband! (At least I was today)...
...and judging by what I experienced earlier today, Caryn's decision to jump into the VO world full time was the right one.
I was delighted to find out that Caryn and I had been chosen to be married...awright, chosen to be husband and wife...well, chosen to pretend to be husband and wife in a radio spot.
From her studio in Ft. Myers, and mine in Miami, we connected on ISDN to the production studio and client in Nashville.
With a little guidance from the director, and a quick re-write or two (What? 42 seconds worth of copy in a :30? NEVER! Ha!) we found just the right amount of (pretend) disdain for each other and wrapped things up.
From my end, it was pretty obvious that the client was impressed by Caryn's range and ability to take direction, and she sure managed to make me look good just by being the pro that she is.
Caryn, it was a true pleasure working with you, and I hope we get to do it again soon.
Continued success! _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

You're a lucky man Doug. Caryn is ultra cool indeed and a super pro. She called me with some assistance in an agent situation just the other day.
Three cheers for Caryn!! _________________ Ben
