Was all psyched for the debut of the Spike-TV series I've been voicing for Bunim-Murray productions. The first episode airs tonight at 10.
Went to Spikes site to see if there was any new preview video....I've been replaced. New voice sounds great BTW.
No call, Not even an email. :-( Bad day. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Bummer indeed. But, as they say, as long as the check cleared... |

It's like being dumped by your girlfriend... and then being invited to her wedding.

Chuck!
What a drag.
It's worse than ending up on the cutting-room floor.
I'm mega sorry. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Boy, that does suck and I'm sorry to hear that. Been there a few times myself and talk about a major buzz kill! Alas, 'tis the nature of our business, though. There's a reason for everything. You will land another large gig and the client will love you. |

So sad to hear that. I got replaced on a Turkish TV series. I was the lead for a while but the suits decided they wanted a more "majestic" voice for the role. I hate when that happens! _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |

Chuck,
My condolences man!
Your post reminded me of when one of my largest customers at the time replaced me. Not because I hadn't been doing a fine job for years. Rather, as I later learned, it was because a new VP came on board (from Venezuela) and he "didn't like my American accent." DOH! _________________ . Thanks for the kind words guys. Yeah...just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on the horse. That demo footage was gonna look nice on the site though...not to mention in my submission for a new agent in NY.

There ya go. Just think; having that in your reel will help you get a better gig next time! _________________ Greg Littlefield

Yeah..that sucks.
Something similar happened to me. I was up for a big e-Learning gig with lots of continuing modules. The producer was pushing for my voice. But the client decided to do the project without sound. Budget reasons. Poof... _________________ www.voiceoverdrew.com

That sucks. I totally know how it feels.
Not to one up you or anything... ha ha... but I have a story! I actually think this is a funny story... I laughed about it when it happened, for some weird reason.
In Fall 2005, I was the narrator/announcer for an awards program. It was a great great gig all around. I was a newbie, and was totally excited to get this gig.
Last summer, when studying with my coach and preparing to make my demo reels, he told me he just received the perfect piece of script to go on my narration demo. Unfortunately, his assistant forgot to send it to me. So, he took the time find it and send it to me for that session... and had me open it right there on the spot. He said, "this is perfect for you and will be great on your demo... one of my students just brought me this script b/c she landed this gig and wants me to coach her on it."
So I open it up and told him, "Yes, I AM perfect for this... I was paid to read it last year!" So, there on the spot I learned that one of his students landed my gig, and he was going to coach her through it. AND, she brought my coach audio of me doing it the previous year... which as my coach said, they apparently said they liked my sound but not my delivery.
I've been somewhat determined to win it back this year. Don't know if it'll happen, though. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!
