It was bound to happen. A cold bug bit me and now my best friend is my tissue box and a trash can. I am usually the one who can be in a room full of sick people and still be healthy a week later. This time, I wasn't so fortunate. The bug got me and I've got the red nose and roadmap eyeballs to prove it!
Actually, I'm feeling fortunate that my clients know I'm in the stages of moving so, no one is calling me. I sound like Eeor with a sore throat! On the lighter side, I could do an awesome VO for a cough and cold commercial right now. Do you think Kleenex could use someone who has had a solid week of nose blowing experience for sound effects? Maybe the people at Robitussin could use some coughing and throat clearing tracks. It's a shame I don't have a home studio set up right now....would have some choice "sounds" to lay multiple tracks with!
My head may be full of gunk but, there is still room for humor between my ears! |

Record a bunch of lines for future use.... you'd be surprised who might use them. _________________ Genus |

I believe it was SoundsGreatElaine of this board who recommended black elderberry extract for colds. I was mainlining that stuff a couple weeks ago and my cold was gone in 2 days with none of the usual aftermath. I can't swear it was cause and effect, but the correlation seemed significant.
Available at whole foods-type markets. |

Okay, I've found the Stuffy Nose thread (ewwwww!):
http://www.vo-bb.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=32
The recommendation for black elderberry extract was from Nancy Camp, in her one-and-only-post on this board.
Elaine, since you transformed my life with Time & Chaos I guess I've been attributing all kinds of good things to you! |

Thank you very much! I have always preferred to use a holistic approach to staying healthy or in this case...getting rid of a nasty cold! |
