|
|
Hi All
I have been using adobe audition 2.0 and I am now at the point where I am trying to tweak up a preset to work well with my voice. I have found that the "classic master" under multiband compressor works well for me. But I'd like to add a little more "brightness" to the sound. Can anyone give me advice on how to do this?
There are some slidey things (Can you tell just how tech savy I am:) that say band 1,2,3,4, above them. I suspect I should move either band 3 or 4 up or down. Is there anything else I should be playing around with?
Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions.

Search the archives. There is a thread where we specifically discussed this, and Jeffrey Kafer showed his compression settings for males and females.
I would look it up for you and post a link but at this hour I'm past my bedtime! |

You might also try the Compander setting. It's light compression with a small boost. I use it all the time now. _________________ Jeff

I looooove compander. It's just enough.
Kathy, the best thing to do... try a lot of different presets... then tweak the settings a bit. When you find a tweak you like, make a note of all of the settings... even save them as a new preset if you really like them.
Then, using the same track of audio, apply those settings and post the audio here. There are a lot of folks that can tell from listening if you've hit the sweet spot for your voice or not. _________________ Dave "Christi" Felton

Thanks Rob, Jeffrey, Dave & Steve for all your suggestions.
Here's my voice using the compander and the classic master compression. Please give me any suggestions you have. http://www.kathybroderick.com/compressionexamples.mp3

Kathy--Is the first raw, second compander and third take classic master compression? At any rate, to me the second sounds richest, brings a bit of bass to your voice. _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

Yes Diane, you've got the sequencing right. Thanks for your opinion. And I'd love to hear other people's input.
Thanks

Kathy,
As I so often do, I agree with Diane. The second is the winning sound to my ears, too. _________________ Be well,

Hear Hear! My fave is the 2nd.... although I will add this. The raw uncompressed sounds marvy. Most producers will want raw audio and yours is quite nice. _________________ Dave "Christi" Felton
