"Och ya dinnae need ah that space!" After this statement my wee huttie is then designated as storage space for "soft furnishing - various".
My latest fixture is a Mk1 Border Collie.

Is she allowed to stay in there during recording sessions?
I admit mine is a way station for stuff I'm trying to get rid of. The dog loves to go in there too but he is so deciduous I don't allow it. |

Yeah, the cats are always fighting to get into mine- it's warm and soft in there! If they would stay quiet- I wouldn't mind (minus the floating cat-hairs), alas they are way too noisey!
The dog? She just does whatever the cats do... _________________ Threadjackers local 420

The booth you just built!!!???
Nope, no critters in my booth...not enough room!...my "wee huttie" barely has room enough for me!!!

My dog "comes to work with mommy" and sleeps under my feet when I'm working...except when I'm doing something via phone patch....I don't have the nerves for that! _________________ Moe Egan

My male cat is too much of a critic. When I start to talk for long periods of time he starts to talk back, so he can't be in the same room. _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.

My mic area (hardly a "booth") is clean, but the rest of the basement is a dumping ground. My dogs faithfully pace on the kitchen floor above me at night while I'm trying to work.
I've recently priced the lumber and stuff at Home Depot. It's about time to build something a little better suited for voicetalking at home... _________________ Greg Littlefield

My new kitten jumps onto my Mackie and apparently this morning she hit a couple of the solo buttons.
Vox Studio, when you are using the prompting feature, doesn't actually show you a bouncing signal (like you see at the bottom of Audition)...so I didn't know that the 23 prompts I recorded this morning for a client didn't actually record until I tried to process them. 23 silent files of the right length.
She must have stepped on the button after my first session of the day. From now on I'll check before I record with the prompt feature.
She's a rascal that one! _________________ Playing for a living...

Mikko and Radek both enjoy my booth, especially since I put green lightbulbs in there. I always politely show the cats out, though: they're far too chatty. |

Smudge the Cat likes to sleep next to the laptop (he's just now curling up as this is typed). Sandy the Lab/Retriever mix would sleep during a nuclear holocaust and Zoey the Border Collie/Fruitcake mix fidgets endlessly but is (fairly) quiet. It's the jets flying a foot over the house that bother me more than the cats and dogs. The jets flying over only happens when the weather does something interesting enough to change the flight pattern at The Planet's Largest Naval Base. And the weather is supposed to get "interesting" in a couple of hours (thunderstorm warning). Maybe the thunder will drown out the F-15C's. Maybe this cheeky Shiraz will drown out both. |

my studio cats usually stake out the comfy couch or my client chair or console chair and ignore the mic booth. but the little one freaked out a talent once when she playfully poked her paws under the doorframe during a session! ...gotta get around to installing that threshhold. _________________ rowell gormon

If I'm typing my yellow cockatiel Chiana (Chi for short) likes to help me type. She flys onto the key board and starts walking around and pecking at the keys. Then she goes over to the screen and starts beaking the screen. Needless to say she either has to stay in her cage or go into the other room and keep my daughter company.
