"...or hire a designer.."
I either over articulate and sound like Henry Higgins, or it mushes all together and I sound drunk. Rolls Eyes

I'm so glad you started this thread!!

I had trouble with "rivalry" and "amidst".... the latter was the tougher one.

"proliferation" and 'preponderance'...in the same script.

The other one today was 'predictive behavioral'

And...I've decided I dislike all words that begin with the letter 'p'.

"I accepted a transfer from a Tree Trimmer to a Water Servicer job in the city."

I got it first take, but it's hard to say without sounding like a creepy muppet...hence the subsequent failed takes. Wink

Smiling solves everything, imo. You botched it? Try it with a smile...

Hello, I'm Moe and I'm P Popper.

That's a great tip. Works on big B's too! I tend to blow b's like Bing Crosby.

So Kara if you dislike all words that start with the letter "P", I guess I should change my name then?

Dunno...words don't trip me up as much as silly phraseology does.

From a Thai restaurant radio ad of yesterday (at V123):
"....delicious steak from prime, well-hung beef. Cooked by a real chef."

And from a software producer last week (at TOS):
"How do you feel about your Parts Interface?"

I simply cannot get through stuff like that.

"....delicious steak from prime, well-hung beef. "

Is that from the ADULT section of the restaurant...behind the beads?

I'm just askin!

I'm voicing math courses for grade schoolers and came across "commutative property". Not that hard to say, but it looks like a bunch of other words I say all the time, and I've never had to say commutative, so the brain took a good four or five takes to let my mouth say it.

Next to last take I read it as "communist party" and tried to keep going, but the producer stopped me in my tracks. Oh well.

Dave,

On the VoiceOverSavvy forum (there's another voiceover forum?) they refer to Voices.com as TOS because the Voice123.com folks has programmed their site at one time so that you couldn't type Voices.com into a forum post.
