| Prices look about right to me. for those who don't know those are the prices per litre not per gallon (UK gallon = 8 pints, litre is about 2.2pints) |

That's price per litre. Price per GALLON in the UK is about £4.00 on average. About $8.00 US.
Feel better? 
(For you lot on the other side of the pond, US average per gallon is $2.80 -- £1.38 )
