Ahoy matey!

I'm looking for recommendations for good places to buy nice thank you cards (maybe holiday cards as well). I've ordered from Main Street in the past, and while they are good quality, Main Street isn't cheap. I've been a big fan of 1-800-postcards (very good quality and very cheap), so I know that good AND cheap is possible.

Thanks!

Seriously-- I shop in person for them.
A Hallmark store or stationery part of a department store.

I should have been more clear - I'd like to find something that I can personalize, which of course I can't do with Hallmark. Perhaps my name and slogan at the top of the card, for instance.

Believe it or not, I found mine at a wedding stationary store. Fairly generic, but nice, I had them print only an tissue paper insert with my name and logo in a quarter tone to look more like a watermark.

The actual message is ALWAYS hand written to support the personal touch.

Thank-you cards are an essential tool in your arsenal of VO tricks and toys; however one should strive to make it appear as a PERSONAL message - not a corporate image style of greeting with Thank -you cards.

Toodles

Of course you could always create your own...as I did from an outtake from my headshot session.

I found about 10 people I could safely send this to, and the other 490 are sitting in a box in a closet.

Also, remember to be careful with holiday cards... i.e., Christmas card sent to your Jewish client (et al).

Dan Duckworth at Voiceovers Unlimited is an affiliate for this service though I haven't tried it out myself.

i usually just custom make mine (though not nearly often enough) in coreldraw, using whatever artwork/font/color ideas that seem appropriate and then adding my logo with a handwritten line or two and signature. then i print on some of the pre-scored card stock (like the avery brand) available at the office supply store.

But cards go in the wastebasket...Personally, I send a small jar of maple syrup to each of my important contacts. The label says it all: Deep, golden, sweet....Thanks for tapping my voice talent

With my web site and phone number on home-computer labels on cool little jars, I figure I may just stay on the counter-top a little longer than a card.
And since I spend ten days in April boiling the syrup myself, the total expense is about $1.65 per bottle.

Mind, I'm not thread-jacking; only suggesting that there are more creative greetings.

That is indeed a lovely gift.

Robert,

I want some.... Maple Syrup. Guess I will have to be nice to you, huh????!!!!!

That is a really great idea. I also send "Tic-Tac" boxes I have re-labeled to reflect my style...

Tart, sassy, and full of flavor... LOL

Heck no, Frank...most of the recipients are downright ornery, and only invite me for one or two jobs a year.
E-mail me your address, and my syrupy sweetness will soon be on your pancakes.

(And to mcm, it works out to about 4.5 cents per hour in labour; about the same as a voice-site subscription.)

No need to be nice.
