I numbered all the pieces randomly: Pirate01.mp3, Pirate02.mp3, etc. and kept a master list of who was which.
All the audio files were uploaded and the directory link was emailed to my judges-- one Eurpoean, one American.
One of my judges said:
1 – cool sound and strong voice - great production
The other said:
#1 most credible pirate voice; best overall piece (nice use of music and vignettes) I think I'd go with #1 as Best of Show.
Pirate #1 was
Frank Frederick!

I am truly speechless, and for me "speechless" is difficult to accomplish. I did not expect to win after listening to the incredible talent who created their unique promo's for the "International Talk Like A Pirate Day" contest.
I had spoken with Ann (my Lady) prior to reading the announcement and said "I am going to have to buy a painting from Deiter (I am impressed with his talent as an artist)". The "Cartoon Voice" C.D.'s of Pat Fraley also peaked my interest as some quality training from an expert in our business, the disc's were on my list for purchase also.
I have been a winner everyday thanks to all of you. This family of voice-over artists is a very accomplished group which I am proud to be a small part.
Deirdre, the judges, Ann and all of you - please accept my thanks.
Remember: To err is human, to Arrrr is Pirate!

FRANK! Congratulations my friend! I loved your promo.....you deserve to win....Way to go! I think a man of your talent and stature within the voiceover community probably derives all your satisfaction from a job well done and the heart felt praise of your comrades....that's why I don't think you should taint your win by keeping the treasure chest prize. I think I would be the perfect person for you to give that to. hahahahahahahaha.....Good Job Frank.
