|
|
I thought I had set up my external hard drive as the location for my temporary folders for recording in Audition (1.5) but I see that I didn't or that somehow the settings reverted. My external drive has a folder called Recording Temp and one called Temp, so I must have done it at some point. Should the external drive be the Temp Folder location and the internal drive the Secondary, or could both be on the external drive?

I just set the temp folder to be whatever drive Audition is not on. I have a secondary drive that I have the Windows page file and the audition temp folder on. I have the secondary folder left blank.
Also I noticed your wave cache might be low. You have it set to ~16MB and if you have at least 256MB of total RAM you can bump that to 64MB (64000 KB). _________________ Jeff

I made those changes and now I'm having problems I never had before. In fact, I wasn't having problems with Audition at all, I was just anticipating them. Lesson learned (maybe).
I recorded a file, saved it in .wav format. Decided I wanted a new ending, recorded that. Tried to copy and paste the new ending and get a message that the clipboard does not contain valid audio data. Then it says memory is low!!
Tried changing my settings, had to close Audition for those changes to take effect, then when I try to reopen my files, I'm told that they aren't interpretable, may not be a valid format - WTF?
Any ideas? Of course, I have a client waiting for this. I would put everything back the way it was but now I can't even find the freaking temp folder I was using on my C drive. |

From the looks of it, the old temp folder is most likely:
C:\programs and settings\Mary\local settings\temp\
1. Copy that location
2. click on START
3. click on Run
4. paste the location into the box marked "Open..."
5. click OK
I'm guessing you'll then get a window that opens up with a busload of files in it, but from the screenshot you posted, that's where the old temp folder was located in Audition.

Thanks Greg.
Jeff, it appears I should retire from VO - I can't follow directions! I guess Audition was blissing out on having so much RAM!
So glad it's earlier on the West Coast and you are available to rescue me.
Many thanks indeed. |
