That was indeed a great idea..I just can't seem to find the box anywhere....it seems the Container Store does not sell the folding ones anymore and I could not find anything that folded locally.

You could try Target if there's one in your area. I bought a folding storage box of that size about 6 months ago. It was in the storage/organising section of the store.

About 30 miles from me are Lowes, Walmart, TJ Max, & Home Depot, all had a similar box that did not fold. I'll have to go to the "Big City" to find a Target.
Thanks for the info....My wife sure will not complain we have to go shopping!

Karen Commins posted on her blog today that she ordered a collapsible box for this purpose from Amazon. It's a bit steep at $22 but if it saves you a long trip to Target (with no guarantee of finding what you want) it may be worth it.

p.s. she also mentioned that she's selling her Telos Zephyr ISDN unit so if anybody needs one get in touch with her before she puts it on "la Bahia E".

That's really interesting that the Reisenthel collapsible canvas box is available again.
When I first found out about Harlan's Porta-Booth, that's what HE used, But as HeavyD (and several others as well) found out, the Container store didn't carry them anymore.
I found a collapsible cooler at AJ Pringle which was tthe same size and works great...but then they stopped making that as well!

Order it, before it disappears again...I may order one just to have an extra one!

I just clicked to look at the Amazon page and it indicated, "Availability: Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock. " Oh well, looks like all the vo-bb folks scooped the stock.
Think I'll check into Target. for something similar. It would certainly come in handy while on the road, as extension cords don't always reach a hotel closet, and the lighting usually isn't very good.

That sucks...that's what happened to me when I first stared looking.
They probably wondered what all the sudden interest was! Rolls Eyes

Bobbin, if you look for a collapsible cooler, that's what I have now & it works fine.

This is what I have now, but again, it's no longer available!...but it'll give you an idea:

methinks it's not so elusive to find the right collapsible box. if you live near ShopKo or Smith's or Fred Meyer, look in the storage or kids section. I picked up a package of two (2) 14x14x14 canvas collapsibles (the color purple [oprah]. they also come in pink!) for $12 or something. that's for 2. II. two.

if you're having a tough time finding something useful to suit your on-the-road needs, PM me and i can check out availability here.

hey, what else am i gonna do, huh??? Wink

This is what I'm using...

http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?CATID=77004&PRODID=10019977

While it does help with sound absorption, I find I still have to be in a room with natural sound absorption and diffusion or the echo will still pick up.

I got 2' x 4' Aurelex panels and cut them to the size I needed.

Just so some of you know - all these things do is help with some early reflections, but it is not "isolation" in the way that you might think it is.

In any case, it's better than nothing... depending on your environment that is.

PEACE.
