Hi all,
I hesitate to even post this demo for critique with all that is going on with our comrades in Southern California. I hope you'll forgive me if this is a huge faux paux, but I did this quickly last night and wondered if I'm headed in the right direction.
As some of you know, I'm a bit new at this and am taking the Art of Voice Acting tele-course and practicing a lot.
Anyway, I welcome any and all suggestions from rearrange things to start over to have you considered working in the fast food industry?
No need for kid gloves, I'm a tough old dog.
Thanks for the help.
-Roger

Roger,

I've listened through your demo a few times now. Here are my thoughts...

1. Starts pretty well though I think the strongest cuts in the demo are the last two. Were it me, I'd put those last 2 cuts (in that order) at the head of your demo.

2. I think your second cut hurts you, especially positioned second. If you get a lot of call for this Southern Gentleman thing, put it at the end of your demo, not second.

3. In general you have a very pleasant, listenable sound. Keep up the good work.

Bob,
Thank you for such a prompt and succinct reply. You're absolutely right, of course. I re-arranged the elements and it is much better. I can't explain the poor sonic quality, except that I e-mailed this to myself from home to work, but you'll get the idea. Try this on for size when you have time.
I sure am glad you stay at those Holiday Inn Expresses...you're soooo smart.
Oh, about the other material I sent you, it may be superfluous after the assistance you've given me here.
I can't thank you enough.

Roger,

Huge improvement, in my view.

Hey Roger,

For the first time out of the gate, I think it sounds better than I expected...and you don't seem to be burdened by the "radio voice"syndrome that plagues so many of us ex-DJs,,,

Way to go!

Rob,
Thanks for the kind words. Getting rid of the DJ voice is thanks to James Alberger and Penny Abshire and their coaching.
Hope things are going well for you and I appreciate your response.
