Today was going to be a busy and glorious day of work but it became busy and most annoying instead. I've got an architect neighbor two doors down who is destroying much of his house just to rebuild it into some fabby new pad. The problem today was the truck-sized air compressor that ran all day as they sand blasted the entire inside and outside of his all-concrete-block home. A dull grinding roar accented with giant hisses of compressed air ALL DAY LONG. My sound proofing prevents all but a very few things from intruding and this is now on the list. Do I s-s-s-seem agggitated? You bet!
Whenever they'd put it on idle to refill it with sand I managed to do new tags for a couple of national clients and three local clients, a Select Comfort ad for XM, recorded my lovely wife saying "Click it!" one hundred different times and ways for some ads I'm developing with an agency, some phone messaging for a client in Dubai, and finally I glued my butt to the chair to continue work on my new narration demos. I've created very nice demos for several people this year but none for myself and I'm way overdue. Turning 6 hours of selected material from 80 different recordings into three 90-second demos is a bit daunting but it must be done.
What's the old saying about the cobbler's children never have new shoes?
I can just tell it will be a very busy week.
