Hi all you NJ/NYC VO-BBERs!
It's time for the MCA-I-NJ Event of the Fall!
Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 at 6:30 PM
MCA-I North Jersey proudly presents a second major forum on
Corporate Production in the Pharmaceutical Industry
Info at: http://www.mca-inj.org/resources_meeting.html
A panel discussion with the heads of video studios of three major pharmaceutical corporations.
Confirmed so far:
Bill VanderDecker, Merck & Co. Inc.
Robert Halper, Johnson & Johnson
Third panelist to be announced!
Location: The Mansion, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham Park (Madison) Campus
Madison Avenue (Route 124), Madison, one mile east of Convent Station.
PLEASE NOTE:
THERE IS LIMITED CAPACITY FOR THIS SPECIAL EVENT.
RESERVATIONS AND NON-REFUNDABLE ADVANCE PAYMENT REQUIRED,
The Program:
New Jersey is home to the headquarters of about one third of all the major US pharmaceutical companies.
This vital and successful industry is essential to everyone’s health, as well as to the economy of our state, our country and the entire world.
Our participating companies are among the top 10 in the world.
Each maintains an active visual communications presence, not just in advertising to professionals and consumers, but on an internal level as well.
As we did last March, we’ll have a “privileged” discussion among professionals. Topics are not yet finalized, but could include
- departmental organization (in-house vs. freelance)
- the kind of work done within each company
- creative factors vs. content limitations
- the mix of scripted programs to “news” events
- equipment and facilities
- how changes in the pharmaceutical industry are affecting production and corporate communications
- the current political climate relating to the industry, and much more.
Also, as before, our panel will be answering questions from the audience – often the best part of the evening!
A catered buffet dinner will be served starting at 6:30. Our program will begin at around 7:30.
Price information
$15.00 Members. MCA-I National members and North Jersey local members. Please have proof of membership if requested.
$15.00 students. Please show Student ID if requested.
$25.00 Non-members.
We anticipate an early sell-out; thus, no walk-ins are anticipated.

Hey Liz, how did the event turn out? I wanted to go to this one since Ivan Nelson represents my DAY JOB! I really wanted to introduce myself to him as my VO self. Alas, I wasn't able to make it. Perhaps next time. _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |

It was GREAT!
We sold out the event, and it was a great exchange of info.
It's really interesting to hear how people book & work with talent & producers and what they, as the project magagers, have to deal with in terms of legal & regs, etc...especially in the Pharma industry
Ivan seems like a nice guy!...even if he IS French! (I can say that y'know!)
There's a picture of Jim Barton & MelissaEx & I...in my camera!....but I seem to have misplaced the camera-to-PC cord I need to download it!...I'm looking for it & hopefully will find it shortly....I KNOW it's here SOMEWHERE!
