It used to be called Land's End until a printer screwed up an early catalog and it was cheaper to change their name than reprint the catalog, so that's why they are Lands' End.

Printers aren't proofreaders.

One time many years ago at Studio Center we sent out thousands of mailers which were proofread by EVERYBODY. Naturally the only mistake we missed was in the headline:

Sadder Than A Soap Opra.

Well, I feel I've done some small part of my job as a parent when my kid comes home from school and shows me a (stupid) mistake in some "official' school communication, which jumps out at him. Then he explains that he has to catch himself before saying something about it and risking embarrassing the teacher..

I kindly explain to him that such is the life of the anal retentive among us. Smile
