...come at very appropriate times.

A production company in Nashville I had sent my demo to in April just called me to tell me I was in the running for a project (which I don't know anything about yet). They were just calling to let me know if: 1) I'm still in the voiceover business (I am), and 2) if I still had my own ISDN setup (I don't - I still have the unit, but had the lines disconnnected until they proved cost-effective). I gave them the name of a studio nearby that has ISDN.

Things have been very much on the slow side of late, so to even get a call for a "maybe" felt like a shot in the arm. Second wind!

Okay, more like a fourteenth wind, but still...

Good for you, Scott! Hope it works out for you.

This one part struck me, though... A very telling question if they ask it only 8 months after your submission:

you mean that there is a high turnover, and they might want to weed out those not in it for the long haul?

Or is it something (cue movie trailer voice)...more sinister?

Ha. If only I were in a mental mode to come up with some theatrical reply to that. Wink

I meant: (A.) high turnover. Makes me wonder if they've run into that a lot.

Stefania,

Thank you! It is indeed and I must say, it's amazing what you can make an emoticon do! Oh, and both vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on my apple turnover, please.
