|

I've just discovered an "issue" with my website when using Firefox and I'd like to confirm that it's not just on my machine. I'd appreciate it of a couple of folks using Firefox (Mac or Windows) would try to click on one of the demo links on my site. It should open in a new window and begin playing. Each of the demos is :60, but they seem to be playing only the first few seconds of the demo. It plays at the correct speed, but the little QuickTime cursor zips right to the end of the file and stops after a few seconds. Works fine for me in Safari.
The site has been up for a couple of years now and I've been using Firefox almost exclusively for the past few years. Yesterday was the first time I noticed this problem and needless to say, it has me a little concerned. I'll be much less concerned if I hear that it plays the entire one-minute file for you without a problem. If it doesn't, I'll have to hunt down my site designer and get him on the case, although as I said, this appears to be a new issue.
Thanks in advance....and Happy Holidays! |

Hey Don,
Yes it does exactly that...starts to play at the correct speed then ends..it also opens in a smaller window which also reduces the initial web window showing the demo links. Hope that helps.

I hate to tell you Don...
But it did the same thing for me in IE6 (I figured I'd check just in case...)

Hi
I have tried your site on both Safari and Firefox. It seems fine on Safari, but on Firefox when you first try to play each demo it only plays for 1/2 a second or so and then stops. Its OK after that.
I hope that helps.
edit: Just been back to check and it isn't working on Firefox at all. I am running Firefox 2.0.0.6 on a MacBook Pro with max Ram and all updates installed. _________________ www.davidmonteath.com

Sorry Don - tested it in Firefox on my Windows PC and it does exactly as you described. _________________ Elaine

Dang it all! Well, thanks so much for confirming my suspicions. I guess I'll let my web designer enjoy the holidays, and then get on his case. What's really strange though, is that I don't remember this being a problem until recently, so maybe it has nothing to do with the site design and something to do with my host.
Thanks again, everyone. And do enjoy your holiday celebrations! |

Don if you find out what causes this I would like to know. It is happening to me as well. I have a site on Office Live and have had the problem for several months. Not a big deal at this point since I don't have an actual demo to post yet but the folks at Microsoft didn't have the problem when they listened to the test I had posted. Because of this I thought it was something on my end.
I would sure like to go back to them with some additional information. _________________ Ron Phillips
