Thanks Ed for your comment on SaVoa.
I just want to add, I have been a part of the reviews of applications to SaVoa (might be again); and acceptance is not difficult IF one has the basics of our industry.
Membership in the VO-BB comes at a price also: friendships, time, interest in our business, and D.B.'s graciousness (She let me in this group) - among other things.
All-in-all we are a community striving for acknowledgment of our skills in the (sometimes) vicious world of the entertainment and the educational megaplex.
To date, we as Voiceover Talent do not have the accolades of the actor, yet we act. We do not receive Grammy's like the music industry, yet we "sing" (we use our voices and skills to create unique audio items). We have Unions which do little for many of the people in our business and we do not have "Oscars". What we have is each other.
Show some solidarity, and help our industry EARN the respect we deserve. One step in this process is the VO-BB, another is SaVoa.
This IS the "Year of the SPINE", do you have any backbone? Complaining about our situation or what someone else is doing; gets us no where. Doing something about our plight will help us all win.
Earning respect in the real-world comes from knowledge and acknowledgment, have you justified your position today?
O.K., I will step down from my soapbox. I have a jaded, puritanical, idealistic view -- and I admit it here and now.
I am also ---- wait for it --- opinionated.
Hahahahahahaha, you thought I was going to write something else, didn't you?

remembering brevity is your friend
I’m a ToastMaster (CTM) I keep it close to the two minute rule. Except when I go over, then I get a lousy evaluation.
