lol...
I was just on that site, matter of fact. Looks like good stuff. I was going to contact them to ask them questions first.
But first, I think I'm going to head to Starbucks for a latte break.
Yes, I'm avoiding this contact management database upgrade. I love my Excel spreadsheets. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I've been using Microsoft Office 97 for many years. I bought it on eBay for about $25... has all the programs... Word, Excel, Access, etc.
I noticed that there are several Microsoft Office 97 programs now on eBay. You should be able to get one for under$40. _________________ "Bailey"

I'm gonna try out the trial of the ProTalent software. Thanks for the link Anthony!
I'll give you my "review" later. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

Caryn,
Personally, I think I'll "stick" with my tried and true post-it method...

You'll probably end up buying it. I did. There really is no other software for contact management that is so tailored specifically to what we do in terms of tracking our contacts, marketing/mailings, auditions, bookings, etc. There is Actor Track (which I also tried), but I found the interface somewhat elementary and not as responsive, plus it doesn't track a couple of things that ProTalentPERFORMER does and I don't think it has as many mobile options (for syncing) either.
In any case - enjoy. And make sure you send them an email with any questions you might have - they're VERY responsive and supportive.
PEACE.

| Thanks from me too, Anthony. I waiting for my activation code so I can download the trial. I've become so used to my own little custom made Filemaker thing, that I stopped even looking for other options. This looks like it could be a good one. |

Bringing this back up...
I used the trial of the ProTalent Software Anthony recommended. It's good, and it has lot of bells and whistles. In some cases, more than I need. And, it appears muddy to me... for me, some of it (like the income tracker) is not intuitive to me. That's just me though... maybe I'm not as smart as the average bear.
Anyone else care to share their experience with this software?
I just downloaded the free trial of QuickBooks Customer Manager. So far, I think I like it better. I like the interface... it's a little clearer/easier to read and manage, IMO.
And, if I do decide to use QuickBooks (I suppose I should) then they work hand in hand (as Liz previously pointed out). _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I was going to suggest trying out the trial versions of some of these programs, but you're already there!
I use ACT, partly because I was already familiar with it from previous sales experience. Might be worth a look, but like recording software and mics, it is simply a matter of finding the right one that resonates with you. |

Caryn,
If you decide to go with Quick Books take a look at the free version.
Quick Books Simple Start
I downloaded it and am just starting to populate things. I sent an invoice from the program. Simple as anything. _________________ Ron Phillips

Thanks Ronphi... someone had already mentioned that, and I had downloaded it but removed it b/c I didn't think I wanted to use it. But, as I am a girl, I think I may have changed my mind!!!
