I tend to look at the "unique visitor" stat as opposed to "hits", as it is more representative of actual viewers, but I think that is probably what you meant anyway...
Over the past 6-months, and after much site tweeking and trying to make my site more search engine friendly, I'm averaging about 275 unique visitors per month, with the hits count being about 3200.
In all reality I tend to use those stats as a guage to see how many people that I contact regarding my services are actually taking the time to view my site. After I spend some time on the telephone, or send out a bunch of personalized e-mails, I watch my web stats very closely. If I see a bit of peak in the number of unique visitors then I typically conclude that my method of communication was effective (or that is was a slow day for the people I contacted and they had nothing better to do than look at my lonely old site!).
Additionally, I watch to see what files are downloaded the most... if my narration demo isn't getting much attention, that will tell me one of a few things, either it's not prominent enough, the people that I've recently contacted are not interested in narration, or my commercial demo sucks and they haven't taken the time to listen to the narration demo. I try to move them around every month or so, and low and behold, the demo that is listed first always gets the most attention... paying homage to the notion that producers only have a very small amount of time and only listen to a limited amount of each demo.
Anyway, that's my stats info.
Happy Holidays. _________________ Brian Forrester Voice Overs

Average monthly hits 3500. That information is of course like information from a CPA, completely accurate and totally useless. |

As you know I do the club circuit lap dancing as Hot Hayley the Huntly Harridan so perhaps the link to that sight is serving me well. |

Unique visits: between 800-1200.
Hits:30,000+
I don't even know what "hits" means.
I can see what people are looking at and listening to.
My animal sounds are the oddest barometer-- someone new to my site must post a note on a board somewhere now and then because all of a sudden the animal sound files get quadruple the usual requests. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I retract my previous question, as I am afraid that our beloved Board Mistress will be knocking on our doors with a ruler designed for inflicting extreme pain upon our knuckles! _________________ Brian Forrester Voice Overs

|
November 2005: 1,008 visitors, 958 unique visitors, 2053 page views.
That's what my Traffic Facts tells me.
However, I am also on
http://www.voice.morohost.com/topsites/index.php
and they say I had 35 unique page views, and 48 total page views - shurely shome mishtake?
My 40 second demo got 176 plays. tours 92, On Hold 87 - so unless those 35 folks were obsessive compulsive about listening to my demos, there's something seriously up with Topsite's counting. |

Ooh. Interesting question. I keep an eye on daily stats, but I haven't checked monthly stats. So I checked just now.
Between 11/15/05 and today (12/15/05), I've had exactly 487 unique users make a total of 3003 hits on the site, who also downloaded 2838.44 megabytes worth of demo material from my site. The month prior to that it was 556 machines, 3475 hits and 3303.64 megs of data transferred.
Oh-oh. It looks like I'm slipping! |

I had 0 hits and 0 unique users, with 0 megs downloaded this month...
Oh, that's because I still haven't got around to putting up a site... shows you what I know... nothing, zip, zero.
I have had two calls on the telephone though, does that count?

I can't speak for Voice123... they don't appear to give you any stats, but my other "freebie" site had 584 hits... over the past 12 months. I can account for at least 500 hits (myself)... probably 60 hits by "web crawlers"... 20 hits by my relatives (just checking to see what the big deal was)... that means 4 people that I gave business cards to, actually looked my site up! _________________ "Bailey"

November:

Unique Visitors: 1765
Means absolutely nothing without comparing it or studying patterns.
