From Craiglist:
Quote: | We are looking for someone with a deep, clear voice to be the voice on our Movie Trailer. this would not take much time to record and would be semi-professional now and after we show the trailer to potential investors, it may become an actual paid position for our feature-length film. Please call me. 801-373-9904. My name is Michael Or email me. |
I love it. This is not paid, but "semi-pro". Which I guess means they want professional results without that pesky "paying" thing.
I also love how his name is either "Michael or "email me".

Perhaps it's Mr. Or, and he inadvertently omitted the period:
My name is Michael Or. Email me.
Then again, maybe not. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

Since it wouldn't take too long to record, can we say that this voice over would be only Semi-Tough? _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.

So guys, I've been hearing so much about this Craigslist that I nipped over there this morning to see what's up.
Under which category does one look to find voice over gigs? I found one that wasn't so exciting.
Just wondering which is the most popular category that these bits are posted in?
Thanks!
Have a really good Saturday! I'm off for a coffee and a bit of script reading (much more fun that doing it at home). _________________ Intuit and do it!

Sweet Stiffy,
The Craigslist index page (www.craigslist.org) has a list of cities over on the right. (this same cities list shows up on all the craigslist index pages)
You might start at:
http://london.craigslist.co.uk/
This London list has specific links for London-area stuff. Look down at the bootom of the page for a category called "gigs". and then "talent".

Snoop around in some of the other classifications, but prepare to be shocked now and then. There's some wild sh!t out there. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Here's how I do a CraigsList search. Go to Google. In the search area, put in something like
"Voice Over" site:craigslist.org
Include the quotes to help narrow it a bit. This way you can search ALL of the different cities within CraigsList at one time. _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.

Yeah, but Bob-- that way you don't end up with a chance to check out the Rants and Raves in Houston, TX or something. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

If you're complaining about what is equal to a typical scratch session, I would advise that you research how trailers are produced. You may be rethinking your position. I think you should know scratching (without pay) is standard process. _________________ Genus |
