for those of you wondering about guru.com and other sites where you can list your creds for free. imo, it's always a pleasure to be invited to bid on a project when i've not paid a dime to be part of the process others embrace.

or is it:

This project is for 60 minutes of voice recordings, full script will be provided.

Kindly don't bid above $50.00 as our resources are extremely limited!!

Good luck and happy bidding!

two words: holy shit.

I think a job post like that deserves multiple snarky threads about it.

Your avatar depicts what would be considered a "bottom feeder". Congratulations on apparently not being one yourself, though I know from firsthand experience that you can be a bit prickly at times...

I hope you took the time to explain your reason for declining the invitation. I sure did.

i did, mary.

when one steps on a sea urchin, to remove the spines from the soles, one pees on one's foot.

it's also a culinary delicacy in some parts of the world.

does this have anything to do with anything?

just a dignified response to a flame.

time for vacation, i guess.

Sorry that you mistook a compliment for a flame. Proved my point about being a tad prickly, however... A little decaf, perhaps?

I told her. I don't know why, but she believed me.

ironically, while on vacation years ago in greece (in fact, studying abroad in denmark and on holiday with friends), i stepped on a sea urchin. because i and my friends were nearly cosmopolitan, we managed to understand the locals' explanations of how to kill the tentacles that clung within the soles, making for impossible extrication. 'tis the urea.

I knew it, too. Because I watched the season of Survivor that revealed this helpful fact. Less expensive than going to Greece, but not nearly as fun.

(For the record, I took the comment in question to be a compliment.)
