OK, people, I've been lurking lately and really haven't had much to say, but now I'm in a pickle (yes, I know, one of those members). I'm switching from Adobe Audition on a PC to ProTools on a Mac with the express purpose of using Source-Connect so I can do more remote stuff and not owrry about ISDN. But I don't quite get ProTools yet (though I can make it record), and so the description of setting up Source-Connect doesn't make much sense to me. And then there's the Talkback product that came with it . . .
Now there is an example, but that doesn't clear anything up for me. Can someone help a brother out?

And Happy New Year Laugh

Matt,

Have you downloaded the example Pro Tools project files available on the Source Elements site? All I do is open that project, sign-in and I'm off to the races.

Maybe a little late, but I believe Audition supports the Source Connect plug-in.

Audition 2.0 and 3 supports VST with direct monitoring of the timeline.

Thanks, guys. I found the template, but appears to be for SC Pro with Talkback. I emailed Support for the regular SC with Talkback and hopefully thet will work, if it's as easy as Bob says (and I hope it is).

Matt,

I'm using the session you'll find here...

http://www.source-elements.com/support/downloads/Source-Connect_Example_Session.zip

I have only the Standard version of Source Connect, not the Pro version. Be sure to use the project that matches the level of Pro Tools you're using (either Pro Tools ver. 6x or ver. 7x) and you should be golden.

My phone number is below. Call me if you like and we can arrange to do a quick test session. I've helped a couple of other folks here get up and running.

Or, if all you need is a way to get your audio in and out of Source Connect, just download and install Source Elements Desktop (free) along with the VST version of SC (if you haven't gotten it already). No annoying Pro Tools templates, very easy to learn, works on Intel or Hobo ToungeC Macs.

Thanks, Bob. It's true what they say on this board: You are the patron saint of VO folks. Inoccent I do appreciate it. I'll download the template you linked to and install it. Is there a decent time Monday to call you? I'm off to watch the Pats acheive perfection shortly.

Thanks again

Matt,

Call me today before the game and we can do it this afternoon. Monday I'm booked with one thing or another until 8:00 PM Eastern.
