It looks like the screenshot you posted except that there's horizontal scrolling at anything less than 1280 x nnnn and lots of vertical scrolling (with nothing there). I imagine that's a temporary issue, though.

The one thing I'm surprised by is that there's no continuity of branding from page to page (no logo)...or is it just not in yet?

It ain't in yet, cause I didn't thnk of it. But thanks for the suggestion. I'll see what my web design brain can come up with.

Vertical scrolling fixed. Stupid tables.

I'm not seeing the horizontal scrolling and I'm at 1024x768. Are you scrolling to see everything or are the scrollbars just there for no reason?

A wise man once told me "Hey, don't knock tables...they're rock solid and work across all browsers"

Sorry, forgot to answer...scrollbars were there for no reason...but are now gone along with the vertical scrolls.

A very simple design... you know where you're at, and what it's about.
Is lots of blank white space acceptable?
I like the Rate Request... very direct, covers all the bases.

simple is the idea I'm shooting for. Why does someone visit a VO website? To hear demos, find out about rates, and email the talent if interested. I don't think anyone gives two poops about me or what I think of my own voice. If I have to use words or a silly tagline to describe my vocal stylings then my reels aren't doing their job! If they want extra info about me, that's available in the raves and FAQ sections.

Am I misguided here?

Not necessarily misguided, but those descriptive words sure work better in Google searches than data from an MP3 Wink

ah yes, true, which is why all the "pages" are simply one page now. Google will read the FAQ and raves as one page and pull keywords from it. There's a bit of a delay to load it all, but it isn't nearly as bad as some flash pages I've seen.

And I will take back all the nice things I said about tables. I still can't the fracking things to work right. Wish I knew CSS....

Jeff...if you let me know what trouble you're having with your tables, I can probably help. I'm a MASTER at dodging any kind of substantial, useful knowledge of CSS by creating ridiculously complex nested table groups...but they work!

Wink

Seriously, if you want to ZIP up your site and post it where I can download it, I'll take a look...

For image searches, yes, but for regular text searches they don't really weigh much for search rankings.
