Well, I've finally done it. It's been ages. Here's my first draft of a new Commercial Demo. A little real me up front, some national stuff, some spice, mix it up yet make it flow....ya know, all that jazz. Anyway, opinions are appreciated.
Bruce Miles Commercial Demo
Many thanks,

Sounds top notch to me, but what do I know?! I especially liked how you ended it; fun and positive. No matter how you slice it, I love it when you post your work here 'cause -gawd!- I love your voice!

Bruce,
If there's any way to make this better, I can't think of it. Great work, sir. _________________ Be well,

Thank you for your kind comments! A couple of folks elsewhere have expressed concern about the use of the word "crap", but I figure if Peter Boyle said it every other show on "Everybody Loves Raymond" I couldn't be causing too much trouble for myself.

Bruce,
If you're going to market your services in the UK, you might want to think about adjusting that word. As I understand it, it's a rather bolder statement on that side of the pond than it is here in the States. (I left that word in a testimony we played as part of one of our Billy Graham radio programs a couple of years ago, and we received a rather tart reprimand from a listener in England who was quite unhappy with us for leaving in this very coarse word in our program.)
On the other hand, maybe that's exactly the sort of cache' you want to have in the UK? _________________ Be well,

Dieter says "He's the man!! It makes a great difference if you chose the right material. It indicates the guy's got brains."
I love how this showcases the Bruce Miles Sound!!
I just wonder if you would want to throw a tiny bit of something wilder in there— your Captain Kirk for just a line or something. I know you have a separate character demo, but I wonder if it isn't a good idea to give a hint that you really are THAT awesome and versatile.
I laffed out loud in 2 places, and "crap" was one of them.
Keep it. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Bruce....yep...you ROCK!
I just have one question...is the "yellow menu button" piece a commercial?...or is that an e-learning/narration piece?
Just Wonderin'
....and yeah...- at least for the US - I'd KEEP the crap!!!

That was from a Lodge Net promo piece. For several months last year if you turned on a the TV in your hotel room in much of America you heard me as a friendly physician prescribing in-room pay-per-view movies. I had lots of friends who travel recognize me and say something. Even though it's kinda dry I was hoping for some recognition from potential clients who may have heard it before.
Deebs, you're one more person who's recommended sticking a character bit in there. I'll give it some more serious thought.
Love you all,

Woot awesome, yo dood, you da man, I'm so excited and I have no idea why! 4.65 seconds into the demo the reality of your person lifts the latter parts the earlier parts trail. Subtle nuances in both timbre and inflection lifted the performance up beyond the loftiest clouds so it could perchance whisper trifling secret unto the bosom of the stars.
Seriously though, wasn't it awful about the Titanic? |
