Well, you did say in another post that I ought to use that love of the gear as part of my branding, lol.

I'm having the designer try again since I wasn't really wow'ed with any of these. However, the "Mr. Mikey" design was one that might be worth re-visiting as we go through this process a bit more.

I'd definitely turn the block of test next to him into a preamp... it just makes sense, so long as it doesn't become too distracting.

Jeff: while I like the logocompany's portfolio, I had some issues with some of their design concepts. Let me give an example or two:

Okay, I think they missed the idea that I am not a woman. Also, didn't like the design (and I'd never wear that dress... totally doesn't go with my eyes or hair Wink )

I'm having flashbacks to some of the kids shows I watched on PBS back in the 70s. Frankly, this one scares me a bit.

Meh on design. Doesn't have any personality (aside from minor technical issues with the separation of my name, etc.)

Same as previous comment.

Do I even need to comment? Sunhat is an interesting choice. Shocked

Oy! Okay, had a little "heart to heart" with the designer and came up with these

#1.

Egad, those rejects were awful. That's what you get when you outsource logo design to China. No offense to any lurking Chinese people.

LOL, the next batch was a little too generic for my tastes, but at least I'm not cringing.

Frighteningly (I did a little HW on these folks), they're not outsourced, lol.

really? I figured outsourcing was how they could do it so cheap. Do they use design students or something?

I think the they have one illustrator who handles some of the work, but that would explain a lot.

I've chatted with them and they are VERY friendly. I'm just not getting any hits out of them so far. I think I might have to sketch something for them and begin praying, lol.

I'm sorry, but that first reject with the woman, um, being friendly with the mic, is really, really hilarious.

I would keep that one handy for April 1st.

ok - explanation ... and remember this is JUST my opinion.

#1 - too busy
#2 like it - would translate well to gray scale - maybe a little less shadow
#3 don't know - just don't like it
#4 this one is already b&w, again maybe a bit less shadow - i like the "voiceover" to the left.
#5 looks very 80's (if that's what you're going for choose this one) give it a michael jackson red leather jacket & yer ready to go!
#6 don't like the way the name runs together and I think the "star" is goofy
#7 again - too busy - and although WE know it's a mic - others less smarter than us may not.

my 1st draft of my logo had the same issue as #7 (blue dragonfly mic) - nobody "got it".

ok - that's it from the simon cowl of logo criticizing.

Greg,

Number 4 is my favorite, number 2 is second, number 1 is third.

Looks like the Blue Mouse to me.

BTW: I like number 4 best.
