Lol, that's the one my girlfriend liked as well. I was somewhat partial to #1 (once you got rid of all the fluff).

Problem is that this all looks too generic to me. Too "stock" if you know what I mean. Even those wacky ones from the first batch looked like they came out of some clip art gallery. Maybe I'm expecting too much from this company, but what I'm seeing in their portfolio and here are two completely different things, and I was hoping for more creativity in the design.

You know, I haven't been too terribly fond of any of them but I didn't know why so I refrained from posting. You just hit it though. They all look so stock. I hate to say it but I think 15 minutes in the microsoft office clipart gallery would give you much the same thing.

Also, before you say "yes" to any particular version, make sure you consider what you're going to be doing with it other than "using it as your logo".

For instance, if you're going to be printing stuff, are you ok with one that requires 4-color process?

If you want to make hats with the logo embroidered, keep in mind that the ones with gradations either will not work at a small size or will be much more expensive to reproduce at anything that closely resembles the original, etc.

Think about your website and how the logo will be incorporated into it. Do the colors fit? Are you going to design a new site around the new colors? Will you like the colors of that new site based on the colors of the new logo?

Just some additional things that might help you weigh it all.

what lou said. less shadow and use color, by all means, just make sure it transfers well to gray scale.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Especially because I think I've seen some of these images before on the web.

*Shrugs* I'm going to take a step through this process just a little longer (having a friend who's life is a genius at this stuff take a peek; sadly, I can't get her to do the logo for me, else I would have... contractual obligations, etc) and then pulling the plug if it doesn't get any better.

I agree with Mr. Hart. While some are kinda nifty, they all look too similar to Dave Diamond's, who not coincidentally, used the same company.

I liked what they did for Dave, so I was hopeful that they'd have something at the same quality level, but uniquely my own. Dave and I have been chatting and frankly, while we had similar stuff in our order form (completely coincidental). That said, I don't see them as being all that similar, quite frankly (though maybe I'm wrong... I never had an eye for this kind of stuff anyway, lol).

I must say, I'm not extremely thrilled about any of them. A few are "OK" in my opinion, but nothing jumps out as "YES! That's it!" Sorry that's all I got. Frown

Yeah, I think most of us are in agreement there Donovan.

The term I want to use is "clippy". Everything I've seen related to the logo they did for me is clippy.

Me thinks I'll be exercising that 100% refund in the next day or two.

Ugh! Last time I did this with a graphic artist (gf's cousin who volunteered) it took him a day and I got some great cover art for my CD and business cards. If the guy wasn't working like a madman, dealing with two rug rats (neither out of diapers), etc. I'd have given him a call.

Best part was that because this was different from the usual stuff he does, he had a ton of fun working on it, and did it for free (totally refused payment when offered).

I'm okay with paying for the work, don't get me wrong... but it was nice to get it free. That said, I'm willing to pay in order to get something nice.

EDIT: now here's what really kills me: http://thelogocompany.net/Logo-Design-Portfolio/Illustration-Cartoon-Logo-Design/

Does the quality of those designs look like what I got? I didn't think so either (and I was specific to ask for that style).
